Your story deserves forever.

Speak your story out loud.

I turn it into a small book.

Free. Meaningful.

Voice-to-Print

I shape your spoken words into a short book. Your verbal story is transcribed and lightly edited, such as removing "uhms" and "ahs." Your story and your voice remain authentically "you." Then I send you a free copy of your book.

Your voice is privately archived.

Your voice is preserved in StoryCorps, a fantastic non-profit organization that's been around since 2003. They have recorded the life stories of over 700,000 everyday Americans. Your story is safe and private—shareable only if you choose.

Why am I doing this?

I'm retired. Over the years, I've heard so many moving stories. But spoken truth is fragile. Most of those stories are now lost to time. So, I decided to devote my retirement to preserving as many stories in print as possible. It's my personal passion. ~Ken

What you do.

You record your story in the free app by StoryCorps that I help you with. StoryCorps is a non-profit organization that's been around since 2003. They have recorded the life stories of over 700,000 Americans. Your story is safe and private.

What I do.

I transcribe your recording and gently edit it to make it easy to read without changing your voice. I make sure all the grammar and spelling is correct and there are natural paragraph breaks. You have the chance to review and edit it before I print.

Then I mail your free book. Optionally, you may order additional copies later.

It's simple.

How can you do this for free?

I'm a born skeptic. I would be asking... "What's the catch?" So, if that's you too, here's how. I founded a publishing company, Scribora Publishing. As part of the infrastructure for it, I invested thousands into creating our Voice-to-Print™ process. It was designed to help grandparents create family heirloom story books, similar to Remento and Storyworth.

(I offer this handcrafted service over at Scribora Publishing.)

But I realized that I was thinking too small. Everyone has a story to share. And selling a "product" to people was an obstacle. So was the daunting task of sitting down to speak your entire life for hours into a recording device. It can be overwhelming if you aren't ready.

So, I decided to use our Voice-to-Print™ technology for a meaningful and fun retirement project. I'd simply help everyone tell just one story. Something doable in just a few minutes. A simple story told out loud can become a legacy right now.

Because of my technology, there is no human labor until I personally review each story before print. And the book costs less than five dollars to print and ship. Common sense told me that some folks would buy at least a few copies. The small royalty on those is enough to cover my time.

So, you don't have to purchase any extra copies. This really is free. But if you do want extra copies, I'm keeping the cost as low as I can. $14.95 for paperback, $9.99 for Kindle. It will help offset costs associated with the project and make it possible for everyone to participate. ~Ken
